"My experience at CorePower Yoga has been nothing short of miraculously transformative. In January of this year I was under-employed, I smoked, I was depressed and overweight. I had just turned fifty-four a week before I was sitting at a stop light near the South Loop studio when I looked up and saw the "sign" for a free week of yoga. Having been a professional dancer in my youth I had struggled with "exercise" for twenty-five years. Basically I did nothing.
Eliza was the first person I talked with at the studio. She completely welcomed me and made me feel that she completely understood my fears of trying to do anything at all. I didn't start for a few weeks but when I did my life began to change quickly. Ebony was so encouraging and supportive (having been a dancer herself). She got me signed up to clean and got me into BootCamp. In the first week I quit smoking! Just quit, cold turkey! I don't have any cravings or discomfort. In six months I have lost seventeen pounds and two dress sizes!
I have come to LOVE the C2 classes. It is so wonderful to be moving again! All of the instructors are wonderful! I feel nurtured in my practice and plan on taking the Yogi Training this August and the Teacher Training certification classes when the time comes. The depression I struggled with for ten years has completely gone. I feel like myself. Being at the studio everyday has brought me community and a sense of wholeness. Having started a journey in "recovery" eighteen years ago I have been traveling for sometime. This new leg of my lifes' journey has brought me so much gratitude and happiness I can't begin to express.

"I miss CorePower Yoga so much. I am taking classes all over the place now, trying to stay close so we can switch off with the kids. No one compares to you. I can’t find any heated classes. I have been driving to Garden of Gods twice a week or so just to get my fix and taking late evening and weekend classes. I want to be part of CorePower! I think I took for granted how great the set up you have actually is! There is not a studio that even comes close to offering the level and intensity of classes that you offer, let alone the variety. "I went to the Huntington Beach CorePower Yoga last week and let me just tell you - it was awesome. Not only is the facility immaculate, but the staff went above and beyond my expectations. I've done yoga a few times before this experience and I've also worked as a massage therapist for a massage studio that was very similar to CorePower Yoga for several years, but your studio was a whole new experience. When I showed up to Jeri's 6:30 am class on Monday morning, not only was she very energetic and in a great mood, but half way through the class she mentioned my name and complimented on my form. I was amazed. At that moment I realized two things:
1) I became more confident and felt important, which to me was huge! From that moment on I was trying harder to do my poses more correctly and I immediately felt more passion during that session.
2) I was so impressed that she would go out of her way to learn and remember my name. And then I realized, she didn't just know my name, she knew every person's name in the room. Her ability to engage the class and keep us motivated was very fresh and inspiring. From that moment on, I loved her. :)
The very next day, I came back to Monica's 6:30 am class. By the end of the class, I was in love with that class (it was a C2 class) and that instructor, too. She was such a great instructor, and although I was corrected on my form a time or two, I was very excited about it because I knew that not only did she know what she was talking about, she cared enough to make sure that I was doing the yoga correctly. I enjoyed her class so much and felt great by the end of the session and couldn't wait to return.

"I just wanted to express my satisfaction with one of your instructors (Andy G)...he teaches C1 classes at your Minneapolis location. I have gone to yoga just about every day the last 3 weeks and have tried C1, intro, C2, HPF, and all are good (well HFP was a bit hot for me maybe when I'm a little further along in my practice). I like his class a lot because he keeps things moving at a good pace.
He has a confidence in his voice and really commands a class. He makes me feel like I can do things I am not as confident I can do. His voice goes up and down and flows with the music and the yoga routine really well. He is very helpful with getting you in the right positions and provides a gentle push. I can tell he has a good solid practice and lives it doesn't just teach it. I get just as good of a workout from this beginner class as I do when I go to a C2 class.
I am a bit upset with CorePower Yoga, however. I am addicted to yoga and feel bad when I don't go! I am even considering Teacher Training - not to teach but to get some deep exposure to yoga. See what you did to me. ;-)"

Years of outdoor sports (Soccer, Ski Racing, Mountaineering, Running & Cycling) have taken a toll on my body. Back pain, made worse by super tight hamstring muscles, knee pain from dual ACL surgeries and shoulder pain from high-speed ski crashes had made it all but impossible for me to enjoy my road bike. It doesn't make it any better that I have a high-stress job in finance!
I found CorePower Yoga on Grant Street in 2004 and my athletic and work life has completely changed. I attend a C2 class two or three days a week. I am more flexible than I have been since college. I am 15 pounds lighter. My body fat is down and my muscle mass is up. My aches and pains have not gone away but they sure have diminished to the point where I don't notice them much anymore, even during my weekly 100 mile training rides. I am also happier and more calm than at any time in my life.
CorePower Yoga taught me how to breathe. The people at CorePower Yoga seem truly interested in challenging me to expand my Yoga experience. I attended a two-hour inversion clinic that was more fun and rewarding than any meeting or seminar I have attended in the last decade! My favorite teacher, Laura, is an inspiration. And it is quite obvious that I am not the only "regular" in her class. We look forward to practice with her each week. It's easy to feel the shared sense of community at CorePower Yoga.

"As a runner, I never truly appreciated the benefit of yoga until an injury, plantar fascitis, sidelined me. Nothing, including routine cortisone shots, seemed to "fix" the injury. I turned to yoga as a last resort and almost instantly my pain began to diminish. Within a few months, I had no pain and was able to resume my regular training schedule. Now, I use CorePower Yoga weekly sessions to maintain a healthy regime of deep stretching to stay injury-free."
